[Class 40 (vi)] The output stage of an electromagnetic scanning system for a cathode-ray tube is damped by a gas-filled valve connected either between the anode of the output valve and a point having a potential approximately equal to that on the anode of the output. valve during the scan, or, as shown, between earth and an extension of the anode end of the primary of the output transformer proportioned so that no P.D. occurs across the valve during the scan.
