Abstract
604,382. Electric condensers. BUISSON, P. Oct. 8, 1945, No. 26194. Convention date, Oct. 7, 1944. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] A condenser comprises toothed electrodes 3, 4 co-operating as a screw and nut, but without physical contact. The nut electrode 4 is fixed, and the screw electrode 3 movable axially without rotation through the nut 4 to vary the capacity cyclically, the capacity being brought to any value within the cycle for any predetermined axial position by rotating the screw through a drum 5. In a modification, the screw electrode 3 co-operates with two nut electrodes, Fig. 7 (not shown), displaced relatively by half a pitch so that axial movement of the screw 3 causes one capacity to increase as the other decreases. In a further modification, both screw and nut electrodes comprise two start threads insulated from one another to form four variable condensers as above.
