Abstract
604,195. Rotary compressors. YEOMANS BROS. CO. Jan. 1, 1945, No. 35. Convention date, Jan. 20, 1944. [Class 110 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] Sewage is ejected from the container 5 by air under pressure supplied through a pipe 19 by a compressor 10 driven by an electric motor controlled by a switch 9 actuated by a float 8 in the container. The pipe 19 is fitted with a pneumatically operated valve 21 to vent the container during filling. The compressor comprises an eccentrically mounted rotor 14 fitted with vanes moved centrifugally against the inner surface of the housing provided with an inlet 11 and an outlet 12. The pipe 22 connected to the valve 21 is situated in the compressor so that it conveys the pressure at the intermediate stage B. When the compressor is started, the valve 21 is closed and when the compressor stops, the vanes are not retained by centrifugal force in contact with the housing and the pressure in the pipe 22 is reduced to permit the valve 21 to open.
