Abstract

178,637. Norman, P. W. Feb. 16, 1921. Direct air-pressure apparatus, automatic. -Apparatus for collecting yeast comprises a vessel A provided with inlet B and outlet C :'or the yeast and divided into a number of chambers by rotating g blades D, which may have packing-shoes M. As each chamber registers with the outlet C, compressed air is admitted through a port H in the end wall of the casing A, and expels the yeast. The air is admitted by a spring lift valve operated by a cam on the shaft of the blades D. The blades are mounted on a boss E provided at one end with a square socket engaging a squared portion of a spindle driven bv an electric &c. motor through worm &c. gearing. By removing one end cover the boss and blades may be withdrawn from the casing A.
