Abstract

604,002. Reducing resistance to propulsion. TORNER, K. F. D. Nov. 20, 1945, No. 31211. [Class 113 (i)] To reduce friction between an endless track 5 provided in the recessed hull 1 of a boat and an air-tight tank 11 arranged in the intermediate space between the upper and lower runs of the track, rollers 13 are mounted in transverse channels 12 provided externally on the tank 11, the endless track moving over the rollers. The track may be of brass or copper sheeting. The sides of the hull may also be adapted to move longitudinally in a manner similar to the bottom.
