[Class 110 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] Regulating or controlling.-The power supplied to drive a blade (or equivalent part) of an electric ventilating fan is periodically reduced, even to zero, and increased again at short intervals (e.g. every ten seconds) ; thus the blade or the like rotates, in effect, continuously, producing a pulsating but non-reversing stream of air. The periodic action is produced by a thermal electric switch in the circuit of an electric motor driving the fan blades, or alternatively by a clock-actuated switch.
