Abstract

603,435. Composite building boards. ASPLUND, A. J. A., and MUNTERS, C. G. Jan. 19, 1945, No. 1577. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 7, 1945.] [Class 96] [Also in Group X] A building panel consists of two outer sheets 2, 3 of hard-pressed fibre board united, e.g. by sodium silicate adhesive, to an intervening heat-insulating layer 4 comprising a plurality of parallel strips of corrugated paper board with the strips at right angles to the outer sheets. The edges of the fibre board project beyond the heatinsulating layer to form a peripheral groove for fixing. The panels may be curved as shown to form a roof. The surface boards and corrugated paper may be impregnated to proof them against water, insects, fungi and fire, and the outer surfaces of the panels may be coated with asphalt composition which may, if desired, be dusted with mineral powder.
