603,305. Speed governors. DERUNGS, E. A. Aug. 13, 1945, Nos. 27049 and 20750. Convention dates, July 21, 1944 and July 3, 1945. [Class 57] A rotatable guide on which centrifugal masses ride is shaped as an ovoid and its axis coincides with the axis of revolution of the masses each of which has a roller adapted to roll and slide on the inner surface of the ovoid and is carried by a lever pivoted at the axis of revolution, the guide and the pivotal support of the lever being arranged to allow between them angular displacement in the direction of rotation, e.g. by driving the ovoid only or the masses only. An ovoid guide 59 is rotatably mounted on a driving shaft 50 secured to a control shaft 73 by a key 71 which extends between two polished discs 72 ; these discs form part of a housing 70 from a collar 69 on which interlocking pivoted levers 68 extend and carry centrifugal masses 66 having rollers 67 running on the ovoid guide 59. Increased speed raises the masses 66 and the housing 70 against the action of a spring 77.
