Abstract
603,194. Securing furniture to floors. WARREN McARTHUR CORPORATION. Nov. 12, 1945, No. 30193. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1944. [Class 52(ii)] [Also in Group XXV] Furniture is secured to the floor of a vehicle or aircraft by a connector comprising a body piece 18 having a number, e.g. three, of longitudinal grooves 23 containing pivoted hook members 35 adapted to be swung inwardly by downward movement of a spring-urged sleeve 42 to engage the end 14 of a stud 12. The hook members are pivotally retained in a round bottomed annular groove 40 by an eccentrically placed circular spring member 32, 33 which urges them to swing outwards. The sleeve 42 is urged downwards by a central spring 21 acting on a transverse pin 44 sliding in a slot 24 which limits the movement of the sleeve. Instead of single hook member, three relatively thin members may be provided in each groove. To make or break the connector, the sleeve is pulled upwards to allow the hook members to disengage themselves from the stud.
