Abstract

602,505. Collapsable vehicles. FASSETT, T. W., and ALLTOYS, Ltd. Nov. 22, 1945, No. 31499. [Class 108 (i)] A collapsable vehicle for children comprises a towing bar 11 slidable in a sleeve 12 connected by substantially parallel links 25, 26 to two side bars 10 provided with stub axles 34 on which are mounted wheels 33. Links 23, 24 at the end of the towing bar are connected to the side frames 10 such that movement of the towing bar through the sleeve 12 collapses the side bars against the towing bar. The sleeve is limited in its movement along the towing bar by a stud on the sleeve engaging in a slot in the bar and the sleeve is locked in its extreme positions by a spring urged latch on the sleeve entering registering holes in the sleeve and towing bar. Upstanding supports 36 hinged to folding back supports 39 carry a fabric seat 35 and back 40 and a pair of U- shaped footrests 42 are each hinged to the side frames by a pin in an elongated slot and to lugs on the sleeve 12. A handle 13 is adjustable in the bar 11 by a clamping screw 14 and a pair of sheet metal arm rests 41 are fixed to a seat frame member 37 carried by the supports 36.
