Abstract

603,509. Trailer vehicles couplings. MOTT, S. F. Oct. 22, 1945, No. 27776. [Classes 103 (v) and 108 (i)] A trailer vehicle 1 is extended at 3 and provided with castors or rollers 4 resting on a track 5 which extends across the top of a motor vehicle over or in front of the back axle, so that the weight of the forward part of the trailer is supported independently of the coupling. The trailer pivots about a ball joint 6 carried by a triangular frame 7 pivoted at an axis 8. The coupling comprises two parallel telescopic rods 11, 12 sliding in a frame 17, with springs 13, 14 resisting movement in extension or compression. A ball joint is provided at each end connection to the vehicle.
