808,757. Seats for vehicles. BREMSHEY, F., and EICKHORN, K. H., [trading as BREMSHEY & CO.]. April 16, 1957 [May 4. 1956], No. 12447/57. Class.103(2) [Also in Group XIV] A laterally adjustable seat for vehicles comprises a seat back 16, Fig. 1, and a seat frame 15 connected to stationary base frame 10 by parallel links, each link consisting of a rod 17, Fig. 3, carrying at each end two pins 19 engaging in bushes 21 in the frames 10 and 15 respectively, the pins 19 at each end being spaced apart by a distance corresponding to the effective length of the link. The rod 17 consists of a tube slidably receiving slotted shanks 23 of forks 18 carrying the pins 19, the shanks 23 being adjustably secured in the tube 17 by screws 25 and nuts 26. The base frame 10 has feet 11 secured to the vehicle floor 12 and also has a fixed seat, comprising a frame 13 and back 14, adjacent the vehicle side. The adjustable seat 15, 16 is adjacent a central gangway which is restricted when the seat is in the dotted line position in Fig. 1. In modifications the pins and bushes can be wholly or partly interchanged e.g. the bushes may be on the rods and the pins on the frames.
