602,489. Wall and ceiling linings. BRAITHWAITE & CO. ENGINEERS, Ltd., and HURDITCH, J. Aug. 1, 1945, Nos. 19768/45 and 5736/46. [Class 20(iv)] In the facing or lining of ceilings and walls with panels and the like of the type wherein, at junctions between adjacent edges of such panels supporting members of tee or other section provide landings for the front marginal portions of the panels, these landings being spaced beneath or in front of beams or other structural members to which the said supporting members are secured, the webs 8 of the tee section supporting members 4 are entered transversely between the beam 1 thereby to reduce the spacing of the landings 7 from the latter needed to accommodate the thickness of the panels 6 and movable attachment devices 17 on the supporting members 4 are used to engage the beams for holding the supporting members when thus positioned. As shown, the webs 8 of the supporting members are cut away to take the beams, the cuts being such as to leave enough depth of web to cover the thickness of the panels. Spring clips 10 (Fig. 3) mounted on the webs hold the edges 5 of the panels against the landings 7. Where, as shown in Fig. 1, the beams have upwardly extending flanges 3 the movable attachment devices 17 are pivoted anchor hooks whereas slidable clips (not shown) are used with beams having lateral flanges.
