Abstract
601,033. Lamellar frameworks. BERGGREN, R. K. V. July 12, 1945, No. 17828. [Class 20(iv)] Triangulated lamellar wooden frameworks for roof and bridge construction and other building purposes are constructed with their various members built up from a plurality of spaced lamellµ of equal thickness and are characterised in that at a joint between a principal bar and one or more subsidiary bars, the number of lamellµ in the principal bar exceeds by one the total number of lamellµ in the subsidiary bar or bars, the lamellµ of the subsidiary bars being arranged symmetrically in relation of the lamellµ. of the principal bar and interposed there-between. At an intersection (Fig. 1) the lamellµ 2 of a frame member are spaced by the lamellµ 3 forming a vertical member and the lamellµ 4 forming a diagonal member, the different elements being secured by nails or other suitable means 5a. Boards or the like 5 fixed on one and/or the other side of, or between, the lamellµ of members subjected to pressure prevent breakage. Scarfed members (not. shown) are also illustrated.
