600,978. Bottle &c. closures. CRAWFORD, B. MARION-. Oct. 8, 1945, Nos. 26164/45 and 4344/46. [Class 125(iii)] A combined closure and pourer cap for a bottle &c., particularly for dispensing fuel to a mechanical lighter, of the kind comprising a skirted screw cap having a pouring spout hole 6, 13, in the top or side thereof and a sealing pad 8 adapted to seal the unobstructed mouth of the bottle or when the cap is screwed down but to allow liquid to flow to the pouring hole when the cap is partly unscrewed and the bottle tilted, is characterised in that the top of the cap is formed with a depression portion 9 or with one or more pressed-up portions 5, 12 over the pad to form a liquid delivery channel or channels leading to the outlet hole or spout situated above the pad, when the cap is partly unscrewed, the liquid from the bottle or flowing about the edge of the pad. To minimise dripping, the cap may be indented beneath the pressed-up portions 5 or the neck of the bottle &c. may be provided with a projecting lip or channel. The outer surface of the cap may be milled at 3, to provide a gripping surface, and the edge of the sealing pad 8 may be notched. An air-ingress hole 7 may be provided.
