599,184. Collapsable tubes. RADO, L. Sept. 19, 1945, No. 28024/46. Divided out of 599,174. [Class 66] A collapsable tube, e.g., made from seamless polyvinyl chloride tubing, which may be of "cushion "-shape, Fig. 1, has one or more holes or slits 4 in the body of the tube for extruding liquid or paste, which open under pressure and close on release of pressure. A succession of tubes may be formed by compressing and welding together the sides of a length of tubing at spaced intervals, using high-frequency electricity. In modifications, the flap 2a may be fringed for brushing contents of the tube on to a surface ; the tube may be formed by winding on a mandrel, as one or more layers and may incorporate paper, fabric or the like which may be impregnated with thermoplastic material, or a cellulose lacquer may be incorporated between the layers ; an eyelet and a screw closure may be fitted for re-filling the tube.
