Abstract
598,812. Electric heaters. COX, C. J. Sept. 11, 1945, No. 23420. [Class 39 (iii)] A domestic electric heater comprises one or more heating elements n each of which is secured to a sheet metal carrier e of cylindrical form, the ends of the latter being received in circular recesses in the side members c of a supporting frame or in one member c and an intermediate ring h. The carriers e are longitudinally split at f and are provided with two finger-pieces g, whereby they may be circumferentially contracted to permit easy rotation thereof. The ring h is preferably attached to tie rods j of the supporting frame by a bracket i. The heating elements n comprise a refractory grooved base with resistance wires p which are let into the grooves and are electrically connected by flexible conductors to metal discs in screw-threaded engagement with a switch controlled rod-like member coaxial with the said carrier.
