[Classes 8 (i) and 102 (i)] A common cam 5, directly connected to a number of pistons 7 disposed in radial cylinders 2 and having identical endless cam-tracks 6, on each of two opposed. side faces, engaged by cylindrical cam followers, is formed with tracks having a plurality of lobes, the angular spacing between which differs from that between successive cylinders to stagger the times when the pistons arrive at dead-centre positions and the cam engages between the cleft ends cf the pistons or is itself cleft to accommodate their inner ends. The number of lobes differs from the number of cylinders permitting uniform, but different angular spacing for each.
