Abstract
598,073. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE'& SIGNAL CO., Ltd., and SIMMONS, A. W. April 30, 1945, No. 10850. [Class 135] An unloading device for a compressor supplying air past the check valve 7 to a reservoir, comprises a main valve 11 on a spring-loaded piston 2 subject on both sides to air pressure and carrying a pilot valve 15 opened by the reservoir pressure attaining a predetermined value and acting on the piston 20 via the port 23 so that the stem 24 lifts the pilot valve against the spring 16, thus relieving the pressure above the leaky piston 2 which moves to open the main valve to allow air to flow from the chamber 6 via passages 5 and 13 to atmosphere. According to the Provisional Specification, the piston 20 may be replaced by a bellows diaphragm. Specification 576,167 is referred to.
