597,067. Endless-chain conveyers. SPRIGGS, W. A. Aug. 8, 1945, No. 20377. [Class-, 78(i)] An endless conveyer of the type referred to in Specification 325,571, [Class 78(i)], is combined with discharging means comprising an inclined surface introduced into a section of the conveyer circuit in which the trays are moving downwardly, tilting means being provided to tilt the trays and deposit the contents on the discharge surface 23. The trays 14 consist of an upper part 21 pivoted to a lower part 20 rigidly secured to a shaft 13 extending between chains 10 and 11. To keep the trays horizontal, one end of each shaft 13 is rigidly secured to an arm 15 mounted in a horizontal bush carrying an auxiliary chain 17. A stop 24 tilts the upper part 21 of the tray. As in Fig. 4, the trays may comprise a series of bars 30 rigidly secured to the shaft 13, the discharge surface 23 extending across the path of the trays in the form of a pair of fixed grids 31 and 32, each having bars 33 extending between the bars 30 of the trays. The bars 30 may be extended on one side only of the shaft 13 so that the fixed grid 32 may be omitted.
