Abstract
597,019. Travelling grates. MORTON, L. Aug. 10, 1945, No. 20599. [Class 51 (i)] In travelling grates of the type in which drop links are threaded on carrier bars attached to the links of driving chains, the carrier bars. comprise a number of lengths telescopically or otherwise connected to provide expansion gaps. As shown, the middle length a of a carrier bar has plates b attached to either end overlapping adjacent ends of the outer lengths c, and bolts d extending through holes e in the plates b and elongated holes in the said outer lengths. Grooved rollers g and plain or grooved rollers i, coupled to appropriate driving chains, locate the separate lengths and run on track rails. Specification 566,717 is referred to.
