Abstract

1,229,379. Endless scraper-conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. 4 Nov., 1969 [24 July, 1969], No. 53945169. Heading B8A. A scraper chain conveyer assembly comprises two chains 3, 3<SP>1</SP> arranged side-by-side, and scraper elements 11 spaced along, and secured to, the chains with the aid of locking members 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, wherein each scraper element 11 is of one piece construction and has a central bridge part 11a beneath which there is arranged at least one of the locking members 2, 2<SP>1</SP>. As shown, there is one locking member 2 respective to each scraper element 11. This forms a connecting link for two sections of one (3) of the side-by-side chains. Each chain section has a length equal to twice the spacing of the scraper elements 11. The adjacent section of the other chain (3<SP>1</SP>) is retained on a hook shaped projection 1c of the element 11 at the mid point of the length of the section. In a modification, the hook 1c is replaced by a fish plate (12) (Figs. 3 and 4 and 5, not shown). This form enables alternate 1 scraper elements to be of identical construction and thus interchangeable. In a further modification (Figs. 6-8, not shown) the chain sections of each chain 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are equal in length to the spacing between adjacent elements 11 and two locking members 2 are used on each element 11. They are retained by a locking bar (22).
