Abstract
596,962. Applying covers to rollers. DRONSFIELD, S. W.,'and DRONSFIELD BROS., Ltd. Aug. 8, 1945, No. 20258. [Class 80(iv)] In a roller ending machine, for securing the ends of a covering such as leather onto rollers for use in textile machinery, the rollers 2 are supported by a pair of chucks 3, 4 carried by arms 5, 9 adjustably secured to a shaft 7. The shaft 7 is adapted to be operated by a hand lever 15 or a treadle 19 to bring the rollers into contact with a rotating cylinder 20 whilst the ends of the covering are worked upon by a suitable tool. The arm 9 is pivoted at 10 and pressed by a spring pin 13 to enable the chuck 4 to be readily engaged with, and disengaged from, the roller. In the operative position the arm 9 is locked by a member 26 to prevent disengagement.
