Abstract

596,509. Speed governors. JENSEN, K. J., JENSEN, K. H. F., and JACOBSEN, H. F. July 27, 1945, No. 19313. [Class 80(ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] To minimise friction losses in the moving members of a slipping clutch centrifugal governor an axially movable spring 8 has interposed between its ends and the sliding collars 4, 5, rings 13, 13a formed with projectors 14,15 on either side, the projectors on one side being offset 90 degrees to the other side to provide a universal joint. To ensure that any governor movement is conveyed evenly to the slipping clutch, the friction disc 3 is fixed to an outer ring 16 which is connected to the sleeve 12 by means of an intermediate ring supported on diametrically opposed pivots.
