[Class 30] [Also in Groups VIII and XXIII] A device for cutting sheet material such as paper, cardboard, canvas, cloth or oilcloth or for use as a scraper comprises a main plate a attached to a handle d and having a pair of screwed studs f adapted to pass through the usual holes in a razor blade c and through slots in a clamping plate b which is also provided with a slot b<2> extending inwardly from one edge of the plate. The device is shown in Fig. 1 arranged as a cutter in which the sheet material entering the slot b2 is pressed against the edge of the blade c. The device is converted into a scraper bv turning the plate b so that the opposite edge to the one near the slot b<2> is adjacent the operative edge of the blade, a small part of the blade projecting beyond the edges of the plates a, b. The slots in the clamping plate b which receive the studs f are arranged so that when the device is assembled as a scraper, the clamping plate e may be adjusted so that its edge overlaps and guards the edge of the blade when the device is out of use.
