The blade of a safety razor is held between two plates hinged together, one of the plates having a screw-threaded projection at right angles thereto passing through an opening in the other plate and to which a handle may be screwed to project at right-angles to the plane of the blade, and both plates being formed with lateral semi-circular screwed projections which, when the plates are brought together, provide a second member to which the handle may be screwed to project in the plane of the blade. As shown the blade 15 has four cutting edges and the plate 21 carrying the screw-threaded projection 27 and positioning-pins 26 for the blade is narrower than the plate 22 which is slotted at 22<1> near the exposed edges of the blade. The semicircular screwed projections 28 form the second member to which the handle may be secured.
