Abstract

772,532. Razors. PLESCH, P. H. July 1, 1954 [July 7, 1953 ; April 6, 1954], Nos. 18857/53 and 10118/54. Class 30. A compound razor blade unit comprises two thin, flexible safety razor blades and a flexible spacing element arranged between and permanently interconnecting the blades, the cutting edge or edges of one of the blades being set back, or at an angle, with respect to the cutting edge or edges of the other blade. As shown in Fig. 2 a spacing element 23 of flexible synthetic rubber is bonded or glued to adjacent surfaces of the blades 21, 22 the edges of the blade 21 being spaced inwardly of the edges of the blade 22. In modifications shown in Figs. 3 and 4 the blades 31, 32 are slewed and the spacing element 43 may taper in thickness from one end to the other. The spacing element may be of metal and welded, rivetted or glued to the blades. According to the First Provisional Specification the unit consists of a spacing element secured to one safety razor blade and a separate safety razor blade.
