Abstract
595,255. Pictures. TRIGGS, W. W. (Walt Disney Productions). Aug. 9, 1944, No. 15152. Drawings to Specification. [Class 11] [Also in Groups VIII and XX] A hand made picture used in the production of a kinematograph cartoon is drawn on a sheet of transparent material with a matt surface. The effect of the matt surface is then removed by coating with another material of the same refractive index as the sheet. The protective layer may be applied as a lacquer such as ethyl cellulose dissolved in toluene, to which are added resins such as " Santolite " or "Aroclor " (Registered Trade Mark) to correct the refractive index. Alternatively refined mineral oil or a polymerised oil such as " Vistac " may be used, retained in place with another transparent sheet sealed to the main sheet at the edges. To colour the picture paint may be applied to the back of the main sheet and protected with a further sheet. U.S.A. Specification 1,143,542 is referred to.
