Abstract

594,271. Pliers. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd., and BOUETTE, R. A. F. June 26, 1945, No. 16289. [Class 61 (ii)] Wire-cutting pliers have the jaws provided with a hood adapted to form, together with the cutting edges, a closed box when the jaws are closed so as to retain the severed ends. The attachment consists of a plate 4 secured by a screw 5 to the back of each jaw, the two plates 4 having right-angled extensions 3 which meet when the jaws are closed in the plane of the cutting edges and are curved over at the top to lie against the rear faces of the blades. Spring plates 6 may be introduced between the plates 4 and their holding screws 5 to enable longer severed pieces of wires to be held between the edges of the parts 3.
