Abstract

1,141,154. Circlip pliers. DEGUY-CONGE & CIE. 11 Feb., 1966 [17 Feb., 1965], No. 6084/66. Heading B4W. Circlip pliers comprise two branch members 3a and 3b with grip portions and nose pieces 8a and 8b the branches being pivoted at 5a and 5b respectively to a central plate 7; jaw members la, 1b are also connected to the plate 7 and at their upper end portions 4a and 4b shroud the back and side regions of the nose pieces so that squeezing of the grip portions causes opening of the nose pieces, the extent of their opening being limited to the spacing of the jaws. The spacing of the jaws may be adjusted by longitudinal movement of the plate 7, the plate being clamped by tightening screws 2, 5a and 5b. The jaws may be provided with slots in the plane of opening of the nose pieces to accommodate lobeless circlips, see Fig. 8 (not shown).
