A crimping tool comprises a pair of jaws 10, 12 which are pivoted at 14, 16 to a support 18 on a handle 10, the jaws being closed by a toggle mechanism comprising a link 26 and a block 24 adjustably mounted on a lever 22. The jaws are kept in alignment by a tooth 38 on one jaw and a groove 40 on the other jaw, and together with the toggle mechanism this arrangement causes the jaws to move symmetrically about a line A-A. The toggle mechanism is actuated by a hand lever 50 and a connecting rod 52.
