Abstract

1276114 Wrenches LEVERAGE TOOLS Inc 18 Oct 1969 51273/69 Heading B4W A wrench comprises handles 11 and 12 and jaws 16, 21 wherein arm 11 has a channel sectioned body 14 having its rear end formed into a housing 18 by a wall 17, the housing having wedges 32, 33 positioned therein. Wedge 32 is pivotally connected to a toggle link 28 which is also pivoted to arm 12. Wedge 33 is secured to a shaft 37 and nut 38 and the nut is connected to a spring 43 by a connector 44 so that face 42 of the nut is biased against a shoulder 41 on the toggle link 28. The wedges are separated by a plate 34 which has lateral projections 36 which engage in apertures 19 in the housing 18. Handle 12 comprises two portions with portion 26 being pivoted at 27 to portion 24 and having a length 52 engaging the toggle link 28 so that it can act as a quick release lever. An indent 25 limits clockwise movement of portion 26 and indent 35 acts as a stop to forward movement of wedge 32.
