Abstract

594,012. Cartridges. FLANDERS, J.. S., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 7, 1945, No. 5648. [Class 9 (i)] A blank cartridge adapted to project a stream of flaming matter about one foot long from a firearm comprises a metal cartridge case 1 having a percussion cap 9 and an inner metal tube 2 containing compressed flame composition 3, an igniter wick 4 leading from the percussion cap to the filling at the mouth of the tube 2 and a waterproof disc 7 closing the cartridge and locating the tube 2 endwise. The wick 4 passes through slots 5 in the mouth of the tube 2. The disc 7 is held by the turned-over edge 8 of the cartridge through the intermediary of a brass washer 6.
