[Class 6 (ii)] [Also in Group XXI] Turf cutting apparatus for attachment to a bulldozer or like vehicle, comprises a frame supporting a transverse undercutting blade 6 in advance of which are two forwardly directed side cutting blades 7 and in the rear of the blade 6, a pivoted angularly movable curved abutment plate 12 is provided to form the turf into a compact roll after cutting, the plate 12 being normally biassed towards the blade 6 by a spring 21. Adjustable skids 27 are used to regulate the depth of cut. The frame is provided with a stem 1 for insertion into the central blade carrying beam 2 of a small bulldozer. In modification, rollers may be employed instead of skids 27 and rotary disc coulters instead of side blades 7. The abutment plate 12 may be biassed by a leaf spring or alternatively by a weight. Stops may be provided to limit the movement of said plate. Means may be provided for severing the web of turf transversely when the roll has assumed its maximum diameter, and for ejecting the roll from the apparatus.
