Jan, 5, 1927, Rotary-tool and single-tool implements, adjusting parts; wheels, arrangements of; blade tools; weights.-An implement for working the soil comprises a roller having radial blades on its periphery in combination with a transverse severing knife fixed on the frame of the implement. The roller B consists of a drum or openwork frame B<4> and is mounted in a frame A provided with a front wheel C<2> adjustable vertically by means of a pin D engaging in one of a series of holes C<3> in the wheel standard C. The roller is provided with transverse radial blades B<2>, and circumferentially arranged blades. It may be made up of transverse U-shaped memo bers secured on spiders B<6>. The soil that fills the pockets between the blades as the roller rotates is severed from the ground by the transverse fixed knife G and is temporarily held in the pocket by a rearward extension G<1> of the knife G. It is pushed out rearwardly on to an inclined guide G<2> by ejector plates E controlled by cams F, F'. The plates E are carried by cross-bars movable along the spokes of the spiders B<6> and provided with rollers E<3> engaging the cams F, F<1>. The plates E are pushed out quickly above the guide G<2>, then allowed to return gradually, and finally held in withdrawn position until soil again enters the pockets.
