[Class 6 (i)] A hand propelled grass-cultivating implement comprises a frame mounted on front and rear wheels or rollers, a transverse set of prongs or blades rigidly depending from a cross bar non-rotatably secured in the frame between the front and rear rollers, a handle pivotally connected to the frame near the front, and links supporting the handle in an upwardly-inclined rearwardly-extending position so that pressure on the handle may be transmitted through the links to the frame to press the prongs or blades into the soil. A bar 8 carrying inclined blades 11 may be fixed in, or adjustably fitted into, an inverted channel holder 14 secured between side cheeks 15, which are mounted on the axles of front wheels 17 and of an adjustable rear roller 19. The front wheels may be adjustable and may be replaced by a roller. The rear roller may be replaced by a series of discs, and adjustable rollers mounted on the bar 8 or on the cheeks 15. Pivoted handle-bars 21 are adjustably connected to the cheek plates by slotted links 22. They may be acted upon by springs. Several independently adjustable and movable bars 8 may be mounted end to end in the holder 14 with springs between them and the holder to give flexibility to the arrangement. The bars may be interchangeable and reversible. The channel 14 may be of substantial weight, or a weight 13 may be inserted through a hole in it to rest on the bar 8. The blades 11, may be of the shape shown, or may be straight vertical blades with the front edge of the cutting part inclined.
