Abstract
549,117. Ploughing and ridging machines. SUTHERLAND, I. J. June 11, 1941, No. 7370. [Class 6 (i)] Ridging and drilling means for use on a multiplefurrow plough comprises a ground-preparing contrivance consisting of a skimmer 24 to sever stubble and displace it laterally, a coulter 20 and a righthanded plough-share 21 to form a furrow to the right of the land so cleared. A double-bladed ridging. share 12 also runs to the right and rear of the ordinary plough-shares 25, 26. These ground-preparing and ridging tools are carried adjustably on a bracket 7 secured to the frame-members 6, 9 of the plough, together with an extension beam 4 and a cross-stay 11. Distance pieces 23 are interposed to vary the width between the drills.
