593,160. Hydroplane vessels. NEWHAM, L. May 2, 1945, No. 11070. [Class 113 (ii)] A hydroplane vessel has its bottom form concave on each side of the keel forward for one-third of its length, up to the greatest beam, and from there to the stern has one concavity 48 only extending across the full beam. This latter part of the bottom is also convex upwards in a longitudinal direction. Air vents 49 are fitted to this concavity.
