Abstract

592,900. Hammers. JAHN, W. K. June 4, 1945, No. 14039. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1944. [Classes 61 (i) and 61 (ii)] A hammer comprises striking parts 2 of plastic material such as synthetic resin moulded as a single unit within a metal shell 1 and around a filler block 5 of hard composition or heavier material such as lead, the handle being secured in a transverse bore in the head. In the modification, Fig. 3, the striking heads 13 are separately moulded and with waist portions 14 secured in the ends of the metal shell 16 by set-screws 24, the central core being a composite one made up of side sections 17b of light material such as wood, fibre, &c. and a middle section of lead &c.
