Abstract

592,558. Tyre-spreaders. PENNY, A. J. May 18, 1945, No. 12632. [Class 144 (i)] A tyre-spreader comprises a pair of jaws 10, II, connected respectively to a power-cylinder 12 and piston 14, the ends of the jaws having brackets 21 to seat spaced portions of the tyre beads and lugs 22 for forcibly engaging the inner surfaces of the beads. Pressure-fluid is admitted to, and exhausted from, the cylinder 12 through a bore 16 in the piston-rod 13, a triggeractuated control valve being mounted on a handle fixed to the jaw 11.
