Abstract
591,116. Electric heating. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., ROSEBY, P. N., and GELLATLEY, C. W. J. Feb. 13, 1945, No. 3531. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In an electric fire &c. employing a detachable wire - wound heating element 11 having end caps 19, and supported between spring clips 12, the end caps and spring clips are sand or shotblasted d and then sprayed with aluminium or aluminium alloy to improve the contact conditions between them. The end of the resistance wire 22 is gripped by means of a washer 21 and screw 20, and is brazed or welded to the brass &c. end cap 19, using silver solder &c. The clip is of mild steel &c. and has a slot or hole which allows the screw 20 to project. It is secured to a ceramic block 13 having a protective collar 18 which prevents contact between the clip and a reflector 10 to which the blockis secured.
