Abstract

590,997. Magazine gramophones. AKTIEBOLAGET E. HANSSON & CO. Jan. 5, 1944, No. 168. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1942. [Class 40 (ii)] In a magazine gramophone, records 17, 18 of mixed sizes are stacked above the turntable with their centres aligned on an axis displaced from the axis of the turntable, the lowermost record of the stack being fed to the turntable down a cranked post 14 passing axially of the turntable, the post being rotated to release the record from the stack. The post is yieldingly supported by a spring 16 so as to slide vertically as the record drops and as the post engages in the centre hole of a record. As the post rotates, the lowermost record is released first on one side and then on the other, the support 11 being formed to assist the of the record from the stack. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a modification in which the record stack is carried on a shoulder on the crunked post, the lowermost record being displaced off the shoulder by engagement with a projection on a side support for the stack. The stop for engagement by small-diameter records yields under large-diameter records which engage an outer stop to be displaced off the shoulder. A further modification is also described for handling records of one size only in the stack in which the cranked post, which supports the stack, consists of two contiguous straight vertical portions just sufficiently offset to provide a supporting surface. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
