Abstract

590,563. Record changing mechanism. AKTIEBOLAGET CRYPTOTEKNIK. Oct. 17, 1944, No. 20076. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1943. [Class 40 (ii)] In a magazine gramophone of the type where a number of records of both large and small diameters are stacked on a stepped spindle, records are unseated from the step one by one on to the turntable each time the turntable, which is mounted on the end of a movable arm 8, is moved through a circular path so that the lowermost record strikes an abutment. If the lowermost record of the stack is of the smaller diameter it strikes the pin 15 of the abutment lever 16 at slightly less than half a revolution of the arm 8, and by frictional contact, the record is unseated from the step 5. If the lowermost record is of the larger size, the pin 15 is struck by the edge of the record considerably earlier, and the lever 16 is rotated to a new position limited by the stop 23, when further movement unseats the record. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the top 23 is replaced by a further pin on lever 16. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the alternative positions taken up by the lever 16 in dependence on the size of the record may be utilized to set the tone arm at the start of the record. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
