Abstract

590,978. Milling-cutters. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER. April 27, 1945, No. 10693. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1943. [Class 83 (iii)] A profile milling-cutter, particularly for milling toothed wheels by the indexing method, consists of two toothed discs 1, 2 each having a bore 7 and a keyway 8 and assembled together so that each tooth 5a of one disc is located adjacent to an untoothed portion of the other disc. The gap between teeth is greater than the peripheral length of the teeth to provide spaces for the discharge of cuttings. The cutting-edges have positive rake as indicated at 9.
