Abstract
589,302. Blackboard attachments. NORTH OF ENGLAND SCHOOL FURNISHING CO., Ltd., and WISEMAN, F. Nov. 30, 1944, No. 23914. [Class 146 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] A guiding attachment for a blackboard teesquare comprises a vertical casing in which the stock of the tee-square can slide and which is secured to one end of a blackboard. The casing A is fastened to the blackboard c by inclined plates, the bottom one being adjustable in a slot a<5> in the casing and being clamped by a nut a<4>. The stock slides in a recess in the casing A and is held in position by the weight of the blade b<1> a swinging indicator b<3> and datum line b' showing whether the blade is horizontal. An arm E is U pivotally connected by a pin d' to a metal plate D having a scale d<2> and being affixed to a runner which moves in a metal guide c' secured along the blade b<1>. A spring-controlled ball in the arm E engages one of a series of recesses at the back of the plate D and the arm can be clamped by a wing nut e<2> and plate e which also acts as a pointer. A scale c<2> may be marked on the blade b<1> in inches and a similar scale may be marked along an edge of the arm E.
