Abstract

1,122,333. Marking appliances. MEASURE MARKERS Inc. 5 April, 1966, No. 15110/66. Heading B6P. [Also in Division G1] A marking device for use with a graduated scale 39 comprises a body 20 having a recess 23 for slidingly receiving the scale and a bottom portion 27 for positioning the device on a work surface 40 to be marked, the forward end 28 of the body 20 being perpendicular to said scale to provide a sight for graduations on the scale, another portion of the body 20 containing a bore 29 for holding a scribing device 30 so that the marking surface 32 of the scribing device extends to the work surface and to the plane of the forward end so that the position of a sighted graduation and a measured line parallel to said scale may be marked on said work surface, and locking means 34 for maintaining the scribing device in the marking position in said bore. The device may be used with a coilable ruler in which case the tape housing may be made integral with the body 20.
