Abstract

589,067. Washing-machines. BANKS, J. H. Dec. 16, 1944, No. 25288. [Class 138 (ii)] The rotary drum of a washing maching comprises inner and outer coaxial cylinders A and B united by longitudinals C of flat, angle, channel or H section. The longitudinals may be straight, curved or helical. The inner cylinder may be compartmented by radial partitions F secured at their outer ends to longitudinals C bounding door openings A'. Transverse partitions may also be provided. The inner cylinder has inwardly projecting beaters E, and is perforated. The outer cylinder may also be perforated if the drum is mounted to rotate in an outer casing.
