589,030. Air - compressors. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., BAILEY, W., and ROY, J. March 21, 1944, No. 5296. [Class 110 (i)] An annular diffuser, which may be as shown for an axial-flow air-compressor, is divided into two or more diffuser passages 8, 9 by an internal structure 7 so that the divergence of each passage is equal to that in a rectangular passage, two walls of which diverge at an angle between 4 and 12 degrees. The structure 7 may be continued up-stream into the convergent stream by a part 7x. The structure 7 may be a frusto-conical sheet. Specification 157,361, [Class 110 (i)], is referred to.
