Abstract

576,859. Ventilators. ANEMOSTAT (SCOTLAND), Ltd., and HENRY, A. May 13, 1944, No. 9225. [Class 137] A directional air discharge ventilator comprises a hollow ball member constituted as a spherical segment 10 affording an air passage 12 within a part spherical socket 11 and a louvre 13 at the end of the passage arranged within the spherical surface bounding the director member. The louvre comprises vented radially spaced conical shells 13 of outwardly decreasing conicity. By reversing member 10 within the socket so that the louvre is at the upstream end, the ventilator delivers a concentrated jet instead of a diffused stream. Passage 12 may be of convergent, divergent or convergent-divergent form.
