666,857. Gas turbines. LOMAX, F. May 3, 1948. No. 12034/48. Class 110(iii). A jet propulsion plant comprises an air compressor d and a turbine rotor c on a shaft b. The shaft also carries a rotor e to whirl air entering a low-pressure chamber f. Airfrom the compressor combines with 'fuel from jets g and the gas is fired by suitable ignition means. The compressor may be of any type. The primary rotor e has small inlet ports, near its axis, and large delivery ports near its periphery. Specification 590,591 is referred to.
